Well, that depends on context...
—
A "one-shot" is standalone adventure in a TTRPG (tabletop roleplaying game).
All one-shots are meant to start and finish within a single session.
—
1shots is a standalone drinking TTRPG heavy on roleplaying and improv
...or...
An add-on which gives a drinking element to other tabletop roleplaying games.
—
Excerpts from my tabletop roleplaying game adventures as I juggle weekly one-off quests with a weekly home game, weekly paid online game, monthly podcast recordings, etc...
—
Episodes and shorts from the periodic recordings which were at first intended as promotional materials for the 1shots Kickstarter.
Special thanks to Cast & Crew!
—
An anthological series where issues are based on a select episode of the 1shots show.
Still In Planning
(production not yet started)
That depends on:
(a)
How much time I have—between life and my other jobs—to work on the webcomic, show, and comic book.
(b)
The pro bono availability of my cast and crew.
(c)
The amount of money No Dice can put in the hands of of the cast and crew.
(1)
Prep for the next episode of 1shots Show while keeping the cast warm with monthly online sessions.
(2a)
Coordinate the cast & crew's availability for the next 1shots shoot day.
(2b)
Communicate what criteria No Dice needs to meet for each cast or crew member in order for the shoot day to be worth it for them. Our goal is to be able to remove Step 2b from the pipeline because we are able to pay cast and crew day rates above their industry standard.
(3)
Wait until No Dice has enough money to cover the expenses of a shoot day.
(4)
Schedule a shoot day.
(5)
Shoot an episode of 1shots.
(6a)
Edit the footage into full length video and podcast formats.
(6b)
Release short video excerpts from footage.
(6c)
Release webcomics inspired by the footage.
(6d)
Commission an artist to create a 1shots comic book issue inspired by the footage.
(7)
Release select videos and podcasts to the public, while curating a larger collection behind a paywall, similar to the format I've seen with many of my favorite internet content creators (such as Dropout TV, Drawfee, and Corridor Digital).
(8)
Make adjustments as necessary and start the whole 1shots pipeline again.
— Fuel The Process —
To start out, my cast and crew are donating their time and effort for minimal compensation as they help me get my dream off the ground.
Joining the Patreon at any level helps me increase the amount of compensation I can give as well as increase the rate at which we can sustainably produce media.
— Fund The Game —
Get you some physical goods! If the Kickstarter is successful, most of the funds will go towards the cost of product fulfillment, but the leftovers will be divided between helping me pay bills and fueling more No Dice endeavors.
A huge Kickstarter would mean extra fun stretch goals!
— Fuel The Community —
An active & healthy server grants two main boons:
(1) A fun space to share online makes contributing to No Dice even more satisfying.
(2) Having a direct, controlled environment allows me to get suggestions and inspiration directly from the fan base the media is going to be made for!
