Miss playing games like Capture The Flag? Murder in the Dark? Ninja? Assassins? HvZ?
I do too.
Through the #HeyLouisville MeetUp group, No Dice is creating a safe, accessible, & inclusive space for post-education adults to play active, large group games. Whether it's for the first time in a long time or simply for the first time, you're welcome to join the No Dice community.
I have two decades of experience running large group games as a former: youth volunteer, childcare supervisor, camp counselor, youth pastor, college activities club co-leader, and child of a large family who loves games.
I run a weeklong camp called The Story Building Game with the JCC every summer.
Now, it seems likely that you're not a 3rd-5th grader with daytime availability this summer. If you are though—go tell your guardians to enroll now!
Most post-education adults will never get the chance to go to a summer camp, but you could attend a mini event, a weeklong "night camp", and other more intensive game experiences.
Private events like gameshow themed birthday parties, TTRPG campaign bachelor parties, massive games of infection based tag across large campuses, and the like are all on the table at No Dice.
Looking for an in person one-shot run by an experienced Game Master?
D&D 5e has been my bread and butter, but recently I've been exploring other systems like Daggerheart and Blades in the Dark.
Some starter offerings:
Right now, you can catch me weekly at Awry Brewing from 6:30-9pm running an open, exploration based adventurers guild. To hear more about The Avatar Guild, reach out for a rundown & a link to the discord!
Novelty fuels me—I want to build things and watch them grow in new directions.
Have an idea for an event you'd like to see? Tell me your idea, and I'll see what I can do.
Current ideas still on the drawing board:
#HeyLouisville to stay in the loop.

Single page websites with easy navigation and rich content.
Give potential customers and Google crawlers everything they need in one place.
Give them a narrative to grab onto and a journey to follow. Focus the readers attention at one place at a time before leading them on to the next piece of information and value proposition.

Huge swaths of web designers are trending towards spacier, decluttered visuals as we continually learn how to improve UX (User Experience).
Internet travelers grow weary of all the noise on the web, so by giving providing a web design experience that is both clear and easy on the eyes, we improve the efficacy of our internet presence.
—
With the Duda platform and a streamlined design, I can create a website that isn't just mobile friendly but is designed with mobile in mind.
For many businesses, the mobile experience is the make it or break it point for most of their online audience.

Most of the time for small businesses, any website is better than no website; we live in a world where internet presence is key for long term success.
Few have the resources to hire a web designer, an SEO specialist, an ad specialist, and a social media manager. It's overwhelming.
The good news is not all small businesses need a team of specialists. Sometimes you just need a solid website made by a single generalist.

A solid website can be a crucial step for new businesses that want to hit the ground running and kick things off by making a splash.
Digital marketing experts pull from an ever expanding bag of tricks to help generate more traffic to websites and to help convert that traffic to actual business and leads.
Despite all our new tricks, perhaps the best thing you can do for your business is to generate public 5-star reviews. A good website can help with that.

While money is literally the gold standard, I am open to other forms of payment.
If a small business or startup is strapped for cash but the scope of the project still aligns with my goals and needs, I am willing to negotiate a custom arrangement.
I'm interested in bartering arrangements that exchange my work for free goods & services and/or a small percentage of the company, provided the scope of the project aligns with my goals, needs, and current capabilities and everyone involved is clear as to the nature of the arrangement.

No Dice, LLC was founded in 2023 and has been based out of Louisville, KY ever since.
"Play is a Human Need."
Although "We all want a pizza da pie" was a close runner-up.
Because "nodice.com" costs over $4k and pizza is delightful.
When I was a flight attendant, I used my layovers to try local pizza shops all over the US, and the best pizza place I've found in all my travels is La Nova Pizzaria in Buffalo, NY.
In addition, my friends and family have been buying me pizza paraphernalia for years even though all I've ever asked for is just pizza itself. I still have a circular pizza blanket, a triangular pizza pillow, pizza shaped tupperware, and the pizza socks which I got married in, but that's another story...
The team is currently Cali (me), serving as founder, owner, and operator.
Full Name: Benjamin Danger Calicott, or at least that's what I tried to get my college graduation announcer to say. He didn't, but the admin department got a laugh out of it.
I also occassionally/often stylize my first name as 3en, so if you see a 3en Calicott anywhere, that's me.
My favorite color is darkness.
Or, more specifically, "eigengrau" (hex code #16161d). It is German in origin, meaning "mind gray" and is named for the color your brain shows you whenever your eyes are not receiving any visual information.
It changes somewhat frequently.
At the exact time of writing this, it's probably Trailmade... I'm a sucker for fonts that have an alternate letter for when the same letter appears back to back, really giving it a handwritten feel.
When I first got an Adobe account, I had to limit myself to only looking through 25 pages of fonts a day, otherwise I would just lose hours on hours to just looking at fonts.
I like fonts, okay...
I've always looked up to them.

Continue learning how to use language to connect with people through truthfulness and empathy by clearly expressing our needs and wants without placing demands on those around us.
The Eagle.
Some fly faster and some look fancier, but the smooth glide of the Eagle is hard to beat.
In a few situations I would put the creatively named World Record Paper Airplane above the Eagle. The WRPA is a variation on the Box Plane, which is also a good time. If you're only going to learn 4 types of paper airplanes, I'd suggest the Eagle, the WRPA, the Dart, and the Box Plane.
